This was a fun one to do. It was originally a lot wordier and had people walking by the statues offering art criticism - holding the reader's hand through some of the jokes. My editor suggested a wordless piece and I came back with this - something in-between. It made me throw a lot of ideas out the window and approach the comic from a different angle which works I think.
Because I only have a half-page each week and have to have a script finalised fairly early on in the process, I can often miss out on big news stories or only touch on one of several big talking points. I like coming up with things like this that allow me to approach several topics at once.
